SMALL BUT MIGHTY
In 2013, festival founder Kira Phillips began planning what would eventually
become the Orlando Renaissance Festival. It took three years and the unwavering
support of a likewise driven team for the Orlando Renaissance Festival
to debut in 2016, and it's been full speed ahead ever since.
The festival is located in the heart of a residential area known for its diversity,
and that’s exactly what Kira intended. Her vision of the Orlando Renaissance Festival
is one that caters to Orlando locals as well as highlights the talent, individuality,
and passion of creatives in Central Florida. In short, the Orlando Renaissance
Festival is a love letter to locals.
Kira M. Phillips has worked in the entertainment industry for over a decade. She has a deep passion for the Renaissance, particularly the works of Shakespeare, and for inspiring in audiences a love of learning. Kira was raised in the greater Orlando area and is an alum of UCF's theatre program.
Dave Juliano's love of entertainment stems from his grandfather who was himself a Shakespearean actor, inspiring Dave from an early age. Now with over 15 years of industry experience, a degree in the theatrical arts from UCF, and a love of pre-gunpowder history, Dave devotes his free time to Viking age living history and combat reenactment. Like a true Viking, Dave is here to party like it's 999.
Kevin A. Bracey is a proud UCF Theatre program Alum and has worked in many aspects of the entertainment industry, from performance and writing to teaching private acting classes. Kevin's love of teaching has now taken him into the realm of iron age combat with the local chapter of The Army of Jomsborg (An international living history and combat reenactment organization focused on the Viking Age) known as The Swamp Vikings where he serves as a combat training officer.
