Curse of the Winter Winds Scavenger Hunt

There is a Curse upon the homeland of Olaf the White and his fellow Viking companions! The Winter Winds have arrived early and harshly. They have been quested to search for a list of items that Olaf was given in a vision. They must collect them to appease Odin and the Norse Gods so they will lift the Curse and they need your help! Find as many items as you can and return with proof so that Olaf the White’s Homeland will be restored!
The Item List: 1. Tome of History 2. Deck of Tarot 3. Bottle of Mead 4. Cork of Screw 5. Game of Board 6. Grapes of Red 7. Wand of Magic 8. Beard of Gray 9. Hat of Wizard 10. Dog of Bark 11. Cat of Floof 12. Bubble of Bath 13. Salt of Sea 14. Turkey of Wild 15. Rope of Knot 16. Rib of Pork 17. Sword of Steel 18. Candle of Flame 19. Lady of Lake 20. Lord of Dance 21. Ship of Sail 22. Cloak of Hood To Collect the Items: Find an example of your interpretation of each Item. Take a picture of yourself with the item. Selfies with the item are accepted! Groups may choose to play together if they wish. However, each group is required to use a minimum of one person to be in all the pictures as a Visual Anchor for the judges. For example: ‘Drusilla’ is in every List Item photo, even if the rest of her group are not. You do not have to get every List Item to create a score. Example: Can’t find a Beard of Gray? Just ignore it and go on to where the fun is! Have fun with your submissions. Creativity plays as much a part as accuracy. The more creative you are in overcoming the obstacles and obtaining List Items to submit, the better your score will likely be. A clever submission may beat a literal, physical one. “Turkey of Wild” can mean different things. Most List Items are open to imaginative interpretation.

Authentic Viking Lamps To Win!: Winners must meet the deadline (Wed, 12/9 11:59pm) and follow all rules to be considered for prizes. Each properly submitted List Item selfie/photo added to your Collection Post on the official Orlando Renaissance Festival Page will receive between 1-5 points. Judges may make subjective decisions regarding rankings of ‘finds’ in the spirit of ‘who brought the best game’ to the game. The more creative you are in overcoming the obstacles and obtaining List Items to submit, the better your score will likely be. Judges will review the submissions and score by the following weekend, and the winners will be announced on Sunday, December 13. Winners will be contacted through their Facebook page to determine delivery of the prizes. Photo Release Notice: The Orlando Renaissance Festival reserves the right to publicly share any photos submitted during the play of the Curse of the Winter Winds Scavenger Hunt. Prize winners’ photos will be shared publicly. For Safety: The Curse of the Winter Winds Scavenger Hunt is designed to allow for successful play without ever leaving your home in the time of COVID. However, some may choose to venture outdoors. If you do, please wear a mask. Participants assume all risk for activity choices while playing the game. Choices about how you play, searching outside the home, or who you invite to play with you are the sole responsibility of the player. Choose wisely. We want you safe. To Submit Your Collections: Create a Collection Post on the Orlando Renaissance Festival Facebook page with the hashtag #CurseOfTheWinterWinds no later than 11:59pm Wednesday, December 9th. Include all your picture submissions in the same post, labeling each one with the List Item it represents. All of your or your team’s entries must be in the same post that YOU created, and the hashtag must be used for the post to be counted. This way, the judges will have all of your submissions in the same place. Scattered submissions will not be considered.
